I bought this iron because my sister had one and told me how much she loved hers and how great her hair came out when she used it. I used it on my daughters hair first and then on mine. I am not sure what happened but it just did not do it for me. Our hair came out dull and looked very dry. I have tried to use it a few more times but I am just not impressed. Could be something I am doing wrong because my daughter and I do not have the same type of hair. Just not sure. Maybe just not for me.
I had mine for a year and a half and one day it just stopped working. It was a good iron overall, but I wish it would’ve lasted longer. It’s difficult to flip and curl with this iron though. I purchased the original chi and it worked much better!
I have frizzy, extremely thick hair, the first few months Bio-silk worked amazing but after a long while the quaility decreased... it heats up fast but after a few years it takes me a little longer to straighten my hair on good days some days i just can't straighten it exactly the way I want it. I would recommend another straightener
This is an excellent flat iron. When combined with moisturizers it does make the hair silky and soft to touch. Your hair can last for a week if not a little longer as far as controlling frizz on the new growth of your hair for African American hair.
