Tools and Products
Whenever you are styling your hair straight, always begin with freshly washed and conditioned hair. This replenishes moisture to the locks before heating with styling tools.
- Towels dry your hair and spray lightly with the heat defense spray. Brush thoroughly. If your hair is naturally straight, dry the hair by running the brush under the strands while holding the dryer in a downward fashion.
- If your hair is curly or hard to straighten, section of the hair into one inch sections, beginning at the nape of the neck. Hold the blow dryer in a downward fashion while drying and hold the hair taunt until cool.
- If it is hard to straighten, you will need to section off the hair as described above before flat ironing.
- Spray another thin coat of the heat defense spray and brush thoroughly. Place the flat iron a half inch from the scalp and firmly glide down the length of the hair. When you reach the end, guide the hair in an under fashion. Continue working around the head until all of the hair has been straightened.
- Now using a dime sized amount of straightening balm; gently work into the hair avoiding the root area. Use your fingers to create those face framing strands with the slight under curl. Be sure to wipe your hands off after use.
- Just run your fingers through your roots and give your head a gentle shake. This will create the uneven part and the wind blown look. Make sure you smooth a few face framing strands.
